Overview: Minimum System Requirements for Greenroom

Avatar

Making sure your computer meets the minimum system requirements for Greenroom is key to ensuring smooth production.

There are some baseline requirements Producers need to have in place to seamlessly produce a Greenroom show. In this article, we'll talk about the hardware and internet requirements needed for Greenroom to perform optimally.

Hardware Requirements

There are no listed minimum hardware requirements for Greenroom, but Greenroom is only supported on two web browsers: Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. It is recommended to use Greenroom on a desktop or laptop computer that has a built-in camera. There is also an iOS app so presenters can log in via an iPhone or iPad.  Currently, you can only produce from a computer.

Internet Requirements

Greenroom requires a higher quality internet connection than a standard video conferencing solution like Google Meet or Zoom. To determine your internet speed, you can use a speed test site such as SpeedTest.

There are two speeds to consider when thinking about your internet connection:

Upload Speed

We recommend a minimum of 10Mbps upload speed for your broadcast to have the best possible video quality.

Download Speed

Your local machine is streaming the canvas broadcast, as well as all the feed thumbnails on the right side of the screen. We recommend a 20Mbps download speed to properly receive all the content.
