How to: Configure Password Login with Registration
The Brandlive Platform offers both the ability for admins to set passcode functionality with Audience Lists, as well as putting the onus on the attendees, with passwords associated with an attendee's email. By enabling password login, attendees are able to create and confirm a password at the point of registration. When they return to the project, they can seamlessly utilize the intuitive Already Registered flow to sign into the project with their previously configured email and password combination.
How to Configure Password Login
To enable Password Login on a project, simply open the project in the editor and navigate to the Registration tab. Then, choose Settings from the Registration top navigation. From the Settings menu, choose Gating.
Underneath Gating, you'll see a list of all gating types offered. At the bottom of the list, you'll see Password login, with a toggle next to it.
To enable Password login, simple toggle on the feature.
For now, password login cannot be utilized with other gating mechanisms. If you have added an audience list, SSO or another gate previously, enabling password login will override them.
You'll see the preview of the attendee experience on the right hand side of the screen.
Enabling password login will add two fields to the registration form:
- Password
- Password confirmation
Please note that these fields can be dropped and dragged into different positions within the registration form, but cannot be split up - email, password and password confirmation will always be moved as one group.
Additionally, password related fields can only be added to the "General Info" registration step.
Attendee Experience
Attendees will arrive on a Brandlive registration page and see a customized registration form, plus the password fields.
In the most Attendees will input their email address, set and confirm their password and hit the Next button.
They will then see an email asking them to confirm their email address. After following the link in their email, they will gain access to the webinar or event.
If they are a returning registrant, they should select the "Already registered? Sign in here":
Then, they can proceed to sign in by inputting their email and password:
Signing in will take them directly to the webinar or event.
If they have forgotten their password, they can follow the Forgot Password flow. Choosing Forgot Password? will ask them to input their email. If their email exists in the project's registration log, they will receive a message that will let them reset their password. After resetting their password, they will gain entry to the webinar or event.
