Feature Overview: Courses

Brandlive's Courses feature allows projects to be configured to award a certificate if attendees meet specific requirement criteria. This article will outline the possibilities of the feature and how to configure it.

How to Configure

Note: Courses will need to be enabled in your channel, this can be done by Brandlive Support.

To create a Course, create a new project, and you'll see in the create modal an option to toggle the project as a Course.

Once your project is created, you'll be taken directly to the Course dashboard. This is where you can configure your course.

Click the "Configure Course" button and choose to either create a new course or choose from the library. Any Course projects that have been saved as a template will display in the Course Library.

Fill out the details of your Course:

  • Name
  • Description
  • Credit number (not correlated to anything but shows on the certificate)

Next, Add the requirements:

    • Wachtime: Choose the associated session and the number of minutes the attendee needs to watch in order to fulfill the requirement.
    • Pulse check: Choose the associated session, the total count of pulse checks, the display length of each check, and the pass threshold the attendees need to interact with in order to fulfill the requirement. You can also customize the text of the pulse check alert and its button, and add an optional audible notification.

With your Course now configured, you'll see a Courses tab toggled on your session page.

This adds a tab for attendees to see a real time progress tracker and a button will be displayed to download the certificate (if configured) once the requirements are met.

Attendee Experience

Attendees will receive the following messages:

If needed, admins can also manually override the "passed" status for an attendee by going to the Registrations tab in Project Details, selecting the attendee and clicking "Pass Override". The platform will then generate a new certificate that you can download and manually send to the recipient.

Important Notes:

  • Courses are limited to Broadcast sessions and only work for live broadcasts, not currently available for on-demand or auto-replay state.
  • Courses will not work with any video player that is not the Brandlive player, such as an embed. They only work with RTMP or Greenroom streaming.
  • Courses can be configured for single session projects, but is unavailable for projects with multiple sessions.
  • Courses do not NEED to have a Certificate. If an admin does not set up a certificate, we will not display the button to access a certificate in the Courses tab on the session page.
  • Once live, Course Requirements,  Start & End Time, and Duration cannot be edited.
