Show Level Passcode

Avatar

The Show Level Passcode is a tool to create an additional level of security around your webcast or event content. This passcode option is a key to unlock content in between the login page and your webcast or event. Unlike the user profile-level password that is used by registrants to access their personal information, the Show Level Passcode is independent of user profile data and is a function of a specific webcast or event.

Brandlive Studio Webcasting

To add a Show Level Passcode to a standalone webcast in Brandlive Studio Webcasting, navigate to the SETTINGS menu and scroll down to Access. From this menu, set your registration method to Registration Required With No Password. This will expose a new toggle, labeled “Use show passcode”. To add a passcode, enable the toggle and input your passcode in the text box. You can make your passcode case sensitive or not, depending on your needs.

NOTE: The character limit for this passcode is 255 characters, and the following symbols are not permitted: # , \ , “

Once your passcode has been set up, when a registrant attempts submit their registration or log in to the event, they will be prompted to submit the passcode for the webcast in a system-generated page branded with the webcast’s header image:

Please note that it is your responsibility as an administrator to communicate the passcode to your registrants in your communications to them. If an attendee inputs the wrong passcode they will receive the message “Invalid passcode!”. This message can be customized by going to TOOLS > Text Override and editing the label in the “Event Login” grouping.

Once your event is created, navigate to GENERAL SETTINGS and scroll down. You will see a checkbox labeled “Use Show Passcode”. Once you click on the checkbox a field will appear where you can input your Show Level Passcode. Below this field is another checkbox labeled “Passcode is case sensitive”, which is optional.

NOTE: The character limit for this passcode is 255 characters, and the following symbols are not permitted: # , \ , “

Once your passcode has been set up, when a registrant attempts to log in, they will be prompted to submit the passcode for the event in a branded system-generated page. To add branding to this page, in VX, go to NAVIGATION, and scroll down to “Header Image”:
