Feature Overview: Segments

Segments give you a more structured way to build and manage your showboard by breaking it into clearly defined sections. Instead of working from one continuous timeline, you can organize your production into parts: such as Intro, Updates, Q&A, and Outro, creating a more focused and navigable workflow.

Each segment provides visibility into key details like estimated runtime and total number of shots, helping producers stay aligned and on schedule. Segments also support bulk duplication, making it easy to replicate repeatable sections across your show. The result is a more organized, flexible, and production-ready showboard that scales with the complexity of your event.

Configuring Segments

Greenroom's will launch with the showboard minimized. Producers are able to expand and edit their segments using the icons on the left side of the showboard.

The Small/Collapsed view gives a preview and summary of all segments.

The Medium/Split View allows producers to add and edit shots.

The Full/Expanded view shows full details of each segment and all shots. Producers can click the ellipse button next to each segment to choose a color, rename, duplicate, or delete it entirely.

Segments can also be moved around and reordered. This goes for shots within segments as well. Admins can click and hold on the drag handle next to each segment or each shot to rearrange.

Segment Summary Information

Each configured segment will display a summary of the shots included. The amount of shots included, the actual order or numerical value of included shots, as well as the total duration based on what is configured.

For example, the segment included in the screenshot above shows the following:
Segment Name: Introduction
# of Shots: 5
Shots: #1-5
Duration: 3 minutes and 6 seconds

Once in Record or Stream mode, segments will also display countdown information to give visual indicators as to what's coming next and to be ready to be on camera.
