Creating a Template
Creating a template is very similar to creating a project. From the Live dashboard, simply click the blue "+ Live Project” button.
You will land on a page that will ask if you would like to create a project from a template or start from scratch. We will revisit this page at the end of our template breakdown.
Follow the steps to create a project as you normally would. If you need a refresher, check out this helpful guide.
After selecting a template, your new project will be created and you’ll be taken to the Overview page to update your specific project settings (title, dates, imagery, themes, etc.).
You are now able to customize and configure your project pages and content. For more tips on customizing your project, see this article.
To create a new Template, navigate to the Overview page and in the top right corner, select the three dot menu and click “Save as template” from the dropdown.
A popup will display asking you to name your template, and optionally, add it to a project folder or give it a helpful description. This is also where you can add a thumbnail to visually differentiate this template from others:
After clicking save, a message will appear letting you know the template is saved and will ask if you would like to preview.
Using a Template to Create a New Project
Now that you have perfected your template, you can create a project using it as a structural or design basis. From the Live dashboard, simply click the blue "+ Live Project” button.
On the page asking if you would like to use a template, you will be able to select any existing templates or the new one you created.
Click on your template and choose “Select” and the new project will be created and you will be directed to the Overview page.
From here, you can customize as needed, or just click "Publish" and go!
