How to: Publish a Project and Create Private Links
Publishing
Publishing takes all of the configuration and customizations you've made to your site and makes them public. All projects must be published once before being able to copy the event URL. Changes made post-publishing in the site editor are auto-saved and will not be updated on the attendee facing site until published again.
Activity Log
The Activity Log allows admins to view change and publishing activity for a specific project. The log will display the admin that made the changes and allows for restoring back to a previous published version.
The log is accessible from the Publish button in the top right corner of the site editor:
Click on the Changes tab to view the full log and publish bundles to restore from.
What Gets Tracked
Project-level actions:
- Publishes (every time the project is published)
- Toggling registration on or off
- Creating an email
Session-level actions:
- Enabling or disabling chat

- Quizzes, and Surveys (see note below on how these are labeled)
- Adding or deleting Extras content — this includes:

- Resources
- Suggested

- Using Test Broadcast
- Creating a custom module
Note:
- Users with the role of Admin, Developer, or Group Manager are the only users able to see the Restore button and roll the project back to a previous version.
- Engage Items such as Polls, Quizzes, and Surveys are all displayed in the log under the label "engage item" rather than their specific type.
Create a Private Link
The Private Link feature allows Admins and Site builders to share event sites with users outside of the Brandlive platform through a password protected and fully functional preview site.
The Private Link is visually and functionally identical to your event site, however, it is completely separate and has a unique URL to ensure there is no confusion between the Private Link and the live site you will share with attendees.
To create a Private Link, navigate to your Project overview page. In the top right side, click the 3 dot menu and select Private Link.
A pop-up window will appear with two items: Preview URL and Passcode.
To share your event site, simply copy the URL and passcode to send to team members. Once a user clicks on the Private Link site URL, they will be prompted to enter the passcode before accessing the site:
Once they enter the passcode, they will be able to view and utilize the site. Users must re-enter the passcode any time they refresh the site. Private Link URLs are generated by the Sitebuilder and cannot be edited.
Changing the Passcode
To change the passcode, simply open the Private Link modal and select "Change passcode":
A new passcode will be generated for you to copy and share. Once a new passcode is generated, all preview passcodes will not work and users will need the current passcode to access the Private Link.
