Can I play hold music for the audience before the webcast starts?

Q: Can I play hold music for the audience before the webcast starts?

Yes. For attendees to hear hold music before the start, the best practice is to embed a WAV file in the first slide of the PowerPoint file and set it to start automatically.  Once the PowerPoint deck has been uploaded into Studio, set the first slide as the Welcome Slide. This will allow the attendees to hear the music before starting the webcast.

Keep in mind that the music will continue to play once the webcast starts. Be sure to advance past the welcome slide when you're ready to begin the presentation with the speaker's audio.

As an option, you can also create a generic slide with an embedded WAV file that plays music to be reused in every webcast.

Note: This only applies to webcasts using an external slide panel. This would not work when using PiP for video and slides.
