Wordly.ai RTMP Studio Setup

OVERVIEW

When planning to use Wordly.ai for live captioning for your Studio webcast, we recommend providing Wordly with an RTMP connection they can use to capture the webcast audio.

NOTE: You must use a video and audio webcast in order to use Wordly.

SETUP

Follow the below steps to set up an RTMP link for Wordly.

1. Open the Monitor Tool by logging into Studio and going to TOOLS > MONITOR TOOL

2. Click the OUTPUTS tab on the top left

3. Click the “+” sign and choose YOUTUBE LIVE

4. Add a Title and include Wordly in the title name

5. In Server URL enter - rtmps://media.wordly.ai/live

6. In Stream name/key enter the Wordly Session ID and Passcode

• Make sure to enter in the same format: XXXXX-XXXX_XXXXXX

WORDLY PANEL SETUP

To add Wordly to your webcast console:

1. Open the Webcast Layout editor and add the Web Address (URL) panel to the console.

2. Under Content Options add the Wordly attendee URL.

 https://attend.wordly.ai/frame/Session ID

NOTE: To customize the appearance, please use the URL parameters provided on the Wordly integration page.

3. Enable Mobile Browser Settings if World need to be available on mobile.

4. Click “Apply” and confirm that Wordly now displays with the Session ID in the panel.

TESTING

• To test the integration with Wordly, start the Studio webcast with a source that is sending audio. This could be a pre-recorded video or someone speaking live from a script.
• Join the Wordly panel and confirm you can view captions coming through the panel.

ATTENDEE EXPERIENCE

When the webcast goes live, the captions will automatically appear in the Wordly panel, and you can then select your preferred language at the bottom of the interface.

Wordly Text Delay Implementation

With Wordly, the machine translation actually appears ahead of the live speaker of video due to the delay in the stream getting to the attendee vs the real-time translation.  To delay the Wordly stream to match the delay in the video player, you can use the following instructions to add a delay to the stream through the stream keys.
The delay is in milliseconds to allow fine-tuning if needed. So, now a stream key can
look like:
AAAA-0000_123456?delay=10000 
This will add a delay of 10 seconds.  The delay can be adjusted to fit the requirement, however, most recently 11000 milliseconds was used as it seemed the most natural.  

To add the parameter to the Stream name/key from within the Studio:  Go to Tools> Monitor Tool> Outputs>Closed Caption Title> Edit/Pencil Icon
