Virtual Backgrounds allow a background effect to be applied to a presenter’s webcam source. Studio provides a blur option and standard virtual background images that may be selected per user. Virtual Backgrounds allow custom images to be uploaded in addition to the standard images provided.
This article provides instructions on:
- Configuring Standard Virtual Backgrounds
- Configuring Custom Virtual Backgrounds
- Removing Virtual Backgrounds
Please note:
- Virtual Backgrounds are available only to Staffer sources and are not supported for Attendee sources added by the Promote Attendee to Stage feature.
- The resolution for a webcam source will automatically be reduced when a Virtual Background is enabled. For example, if a webcast is 720p, the source will start at 720p. When backgrounds are enabled, that source's resolution will be reduced to 360p. When the background is removed, the source will return to 720p. Sources that do not have backgrounds enabled, in the same 720p webcast, will stay at 720p.
